In November of 2022, God shared some things with me. I recorded it, but I never posted it publicly. Why? Fear. Fear was holding me back. Last year, before the Ten Times Better Series, a collection of teachings exploring lessons we can learn from the Book of Daniel, was released, I decided to obey God. Like, for real, this time. Without a contingency plan. Without providing my technical assistance as if He needed my help. To obey and believe that He is God Almighty. To allow myself to be used by our Father for His Kingdom and His glory.

It is dangerous to withhold and suppress what God has placed inside you to share. When God tells you to do something, do it. You are delaying your progress and possibly the progress of others. I want to encourage you to obey God without a contingency plan. I want to encourage you to believe what God has said about you and what He has told you in the secret place, a space of intimate communication with God. I want you to be all that God has called you to be and do all that God has called you to do.

Are you ready to align your goals with God’s purpose and confidently step into your calling? Today, I want to share three profound lessons that have transformed my life—and I pray they’ll inspire you to pursue success with faith, humility, and obedience—these lessons God released to me in November of 2022. Recently, I rewatched the video and posted it for public view because, quite frankly, I was supposed to do it in 2022.

Let’s dive in and align our goals with God’s purpose!

Lesson 1: Why We Do Things Matters

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “What is my why?” God posed this question to me in November of 2022, reminding me that my motivations should be pure and aligned with His will. Philippians 2:3-4 teaches us, “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” This scripture challenges us to examine our hearts and ensure our actions are not self-serving.

When God gives us dreams and ideas, they aren’t just for our benefit—they’re meant to serve others and glorify Him. A pure heart is key. So, take some time to reflect: What is your why? Are you pursuing your goals for selfish reasons or seeking to uplift others and advance God’s kingdom?

Lesson 2: Get Out of God's Way

One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying out of God’s way. There have been times when I received a Word from the Lord, and I got so excited that I just started going, and I would be all over the place. There have also been times when I would receive a Word and do absolutely NOTHING. And there would be those times when I would do just enough to get by(what I perceive as getting by). For example, with the video I recorded in 2022 but never shared publicly until this year. I was being disobedient.

God showed me that rushing ahead without His guidance can lead to frustration and unsustainable results. And when we don’t do a thing (usually because we’re scared), we won’t move forward the way God has designed.

The smallest one will become a thousand, And the least one a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will bring it about quickly in its time.

-Isaiah 60:22

I encourage you to do your part and believe that He will make things happen when the time is right. Prepare diligently, but don’t force it. Fear has no place in your destiny, so get started, keep going, and finish. Trust in God’s timing, and He will do what He said.

Lesson 3: Don't Forget About God

The final reminder is simple yet profound: don’t forget God. I encourage you to read Chapter 8 of Deuteronomy. Please read it, y’all. God took care of the Israelites. Even though they were disobedient, God still provided for them, protected them, disciplined them, and kept His Word. And you know what? We serve the same God. If we are being honest, we disobey God sometimes as well. But God. He still provides, protects, and disciplines us. And He KEEPS HIS WORD. God does not lie. So when the thing that He promises you comes to you, don’t forget about Him. It was God who did it.

Here are just a few verses that I would like to highlight from Deuteronomy Chapter 8:

Verse 2

And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, in order to humble you, putting you to the test, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

Verses 4 and 5

Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

Verse 11

Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep His commandments, His ordinances, and His statutes which I am commanding you today

Verses 16-18

In the wilderness it was He who fed you manna which your fathers did not know, in order to humble you and in order to put you to the test, to do good for you in the end. 17 Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’ 18 But you are to remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, in order to confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

As you excel in your calling, stay grounded in obedience and gratitude. Keep God’s commandments and honor Him in all you do. Success is not just about achieving your goals—it’s about staying faithful to the One who made it all possible. Reflect on how far God has brought you, and never stop giving Him the glory.

Practical Steps to Align with God's Purpose

Here are three practical takeaways to help you apply these principles in your life:

  • Check your motivations: Regularly examine your heart to ensure your actions align with God’s will. Ask yourself, “Why am I doing this? Is it for His glory or my own?”
  • Trust God’s timing: Prepare diligently while seeking God’s guidance on when to release. Reject fear and do not confuse it with “waiting on God.” When you know what you heard, get started, keep going, and finish. Be patient and believe what God said.
  • Stay rooted in gratitude: Never forget to thank God for His blessings. Acknowledge His hand in your journey and remain obedient to His Word.

Be Where You're Supposed to Be

When I served as a high school principal, I would always say, “Be where you’re supposed to be, doing what you’re supposed to do.” If you have ever worked in a high school or have high school-aged people in your life, you understand the significance of this reminder. But we all need that reminder regarding our assignments from God. Who are we called to serve, and how should we serve them? Be where you’re supposed to be, doing what you’re supposed to do. Obedience.

Stay in God’s Word, pray, and take time to listen. Discernment isn’t possible without a strong connection to God through scripture and meditation. As you move forward, keep your why pure, trust His timing, and always give Him the glory.

Conclusion

As you reflect on these lessons, remember that success rooted in faith is about more than worldly achievements. It’s about aligning your heart, actions, and goals with God’s purpose. So, what is your why? Are you ready to trust Him and stay out of His way? Most importantly, will you remember to glorify Him at every step of your journey?

Stay encouraged, stay obedient, and stay in God’s Word.

Love you and take care!
