As we enter a new year, let this be the moment we fully embrace what God has placed within us.

God is the source of our power, wisdom, and courage. He has called each of us to contribute uniquely to His kingdom. Yet, many of us hold back—whether out of fear, uncertainty, or a sense of inadequacy. This year, let’s choose obedience over hesitation. Let’s trust Him to guide us as we take even the smallest steps toward fulfilling the assignments He’s given us.

Faith Over Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

The Greek word for power in the Bible verse above is dynamis, meaning strength, power, and ability. And that power comes from God.

Fear often whispers that failure, rejection, or mistakes are inevitable and that the pain isn’t worth doing what we have been called to do. Friends, that is a lie. If God has called us to something, He has equipped us with everything we need to accomplish it. And guess what? We might make mistakes. We might experience rejection. But I am fully persuaded that if we stay submitted, committed, and aligned with God, we will NOT fail. It might take longer than expected. It might not be how we imagined, but we will have success as we stay connected to God through His Word and His Spirit.

Faith in God must be greater than any fear. It’s not about having all the answers or knowing the full path ahead. It’s about trusting the One who called us and stepping forward, even when we feel nervous or unsure.

Obedience Requires Action

The Bible is filled with examples of God working through people. He calls people to action—not because He needs their help but because He designed us to partner with Him. The same is true today. God doesn’t come down to do the work for us; He commissions us to act.

Whether writing the book, starting the business, mentoring others, or sharing your testimony, your obedience matters. God will provide the strength and resources, but you must be willing to do the work.

Encouragement for the Journey

This journey won’t always be easy. Challenges and roadblocks will arise, but take heart: God has equipped us with His Word and His Spirit. We’re not in this alone. The Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher, and advocate, guiding us in truth and empowering us to stay the course.

When you feel discouraged, remember that your gifts and assignments can transform lives. You may never fully see the ripple effect of your obedience, but trust that God is using your faithfulness to build His Kingdom.
